How to Generate a Pinterest Product Feed From Your Website
Build a Pinterest-ready product feed from your store URL and add it to your Pinterest catalog step by step.
To list products on Pinterest, you need a catalog feed: a file listing every product with its title, price, link and image. The free SeoSpidie Pinterest product feed generator crawls your store, detects product pages and builds a feed in XML, CSV or TSV โ whichever you prefer.
For account setup and Pinterest's rules, read the Pinterest shopping catalog setup guide.
Step 1: Enter your store URL
Paste your shop's homepage or main catalogue page. The tool crawls your site and identifies product pages from their content and structure.
Step 2: Review what was found
Check the product list. Remove anything that should not be on Pinterest โ gift cards, services, out-of-season items you do not want to promote. If products are missing, make sure they are linked from category pages and that their pages load without login.
Step 3: Polish titles and images
Pinterest is visual and search-driven, so two fields matter most:
- Titles should say what the product is and its key attribute. Trim shop names and promotional words. The product title optimizer suggests stronger variants.
- Images should be the product, clear and high quality. Confirm every image URL works with the image URL checker.
Step 4: Choose the format and export
Pick XML, CSV or TSV. All three work with Pinterest. CSV is easiest to open and edit in a spreadsheet; XML is common for automated systems. Download the file.
Step 5: Host the feed
Upload the file to your website, for example https://yourshop.com/feeds/pinterest.csv. Pinterest needs a public URL so it can fetch updates regularly.
Step 6: Add it to Pinterest
- Make sure your website is claimed in your Pinterest business account.
- Go to Catalogs and create a new data source.
- Enter the feed URL, format, currency and country.
- Submit and wait for ingestion and review.
- Check the ingestion report and fix any errors.
Common ingestion errors
- Image could not be downloaded โ the URL is broken, too slow or blocked.
- Price missing or invalid โ usually a missing currency code.
- Link domain does not match โ product links must point to your claimed website.
- Duplicate IDs โ two rows share one
id.
Keep the feed in sync
Pinterest refetches the file, but the file changes only when you regenerate it. After price changes, new products or sell-outs, regenerate and replace the hosted file. If you also sell through Google and Meta, the multi-channel feed generator keeps all channels consistent from one crawl.
Tips for better results
- Use the same product IDs everywhere โ site, Pinterest tag and feed โ so reporting and retargeting work.
- Add
google_product_categoryvalues; Pinterest uses them for categorisation. Find them with the category finder. - Write descriptions that use the words people search on Pinterest, such as "boho living room decor" or "minimalist gold earrings".
